Worker screening: Department of Human Services Screening Unit
Workers apply for an NDIS Worker Check through a Screening SA account, after their employer has verified the application with its NDIS Employer ID.

Registering in Adelaide: Questions
Is NDIS registration in Adelaide different from anywhere else?
No. The NDIS Commission registers providers under one national set of rules, and it has done so in South Australia since 1 July 2018. You apply online through the Commission’s portal, and your audit is done by an NDIS-approved quality auditor. What is handled in South Australia is worker screening.
Where do workers in Adelaide get an NDIS worker screening check?
Workers apply for an NDIS Worker Check through a Screening SA account, after their employer has verified the application with its NDIS Employer ID. The check is recognised nationally, so a worker who already holds one from another state or territory does not need a new one.
Do I need to be near one of your offices?
No. We work with providers all over Australia online: your documents are delivered to your own secure online folder and the lessons, guides and support are online. Our offices are in Sydney and Melbourne.
How long does registration take from Adelaide?
Your documents arrive within 24 hours of starting. After that the timeline depends on how quickly your evidence comes together, your auditor’s availability and the Commission’s processing times. Where you are does not change any of those.
Which registration do I need?
It is decided by the supports you deliver: verification for lower-risk supports, certification (Core, plus Specialist modules where they apply) for higher-risk ones, and SDA for specialist disability accommodation. The pathway finder works it out in about ten seconds.
