What NDIS Registration Actually Costs
Three numbers are involved and only one of them is ours. Pricing in this sector is deliberately vague, so here is the whole picture including the part we do not get paid for.
The Short Answer
How much does NDIS registration cost?
Three costs are involved. Applying to the NDIS Commission is free. A consultant prepares your documents and guides you through the application for a fee; EnableUs packages are a fixed fee from $899. An independent approved quality auditor charges separately for the audit, priced on your size and registration groups, and you pay them directly.
01The Three Numbers
Only One of Them Is Ours
| Who charges it | What it covers | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| The NDIS Commission | Receiving and assessing your application. Applying to register is free. | Nothing |
| Your consultant (us, or someone else) | Customised documents, step-by-step guides to your self-assessment and lodgement, audit preparation and a referral to an approved auditor. | A fixed fee, published on our pricing page |
| An independent approved quality auditor | The audit itself. They are a separate business, they set their own fee and you pay them directly. | Varies — see below |
EnableUs partners with an NDIS-approved auditor to get you good pricing. The auditor’s fee is paid directly to them.
Because we do not set it and we cannot control it. Approved quality auditors price on your size, your registration groups, the number of sites and whether the audit is remote or on site. A verification desktop review sits at the low end and a specialist certification audit with several modules at the high end. Anyone quoting you a single figure that includes the audit is either guessing or absorbing a risk they will price back into their own fee.
02The Rest Of It
The Costs Nobody Puts in the Brochure
These are costs of operating as an NDIS provider rather than costs of registering, but they land at the same time and they catch people out.
Insurance
Public liability and professional indemnity at the levels your supports require, plus workers compensation if you employ anyone. Required evidence at audit.
Worker screening
An NDIS Worker Screening Check for everyone in a risk-assessed role. State-administered, modest per person, and it adds up with a team.
Qualifications and checks
Whatever your registration groups require — registrations, certificates, first aid, and the records proving they are current.
The ongoing cycle
A mid-term audit partway through a certification term and a full re-audit at the end of it. Budget for them as a recurring cost, not a surprise.
03Our Fee
Fixed, Published, and Agreed Before We Start
We publish a fixed price for each registration module and we do not bill by the hour. The number you are quoted before you start is the number you pay, and it does not move because the work took longer than we expected.
That is deliberate. Hourly billing on a compliance project puts the consultant and the client on opposite sides — every question you ask costs you money, so you stop asking, and the registration is worse for it.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is NDIS registration free?
Applying to the Commission is free. The costs are the consultant, if you use one, and the independent auditor, which every pathway requires. If someone has quoted you a "Commission fee", they are describing the audit.
What does an audit cost?
It depends on your registration groups, your size, your number of sites and whether the audit is remote or on site, and auditors price it themselves. A verification desktop review is generally the cheapest and a multi-module specialist certification audit the dearest. We will not invent a number for a fee we do not control; we will help you get comparable quotes from approved auditors.
Why is the auditor not included in your price?
Because we do not receive it and we cannot control it. Bundling a guess into our number would mean either overcharging you when the quote comes in low or absorbing a loss when it comes in high — and the second one gets priced back into everybody’s fee. We would rather tell you it is separate.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, on request. We do not push them and we do not advertise them as a headline — ask on your first call and we will set one up.
Is a cheaper consultant a false economy?
Not necessarily, and we are not going to pretend every cheaper option is bad. What we would check is what you are actually buying: whether the documents are written for your business or assembled from a pack, whether the self-assessment is supported, whether anyone prepares you for the audit itself, and whether they are still there at your mid-term audit in eighteen months. The Commission has been explicit that applications built from purchased document packs can be refused.
